I told Gracie but she just looked at me..... She got a tad distressed today at Cottlesoe as she was not allowed on the beach... Upt the road at the dog beach it was so crowded you could not get even a thin dog in there it was so crowded....
She had to make do with a boiled lolly instead....

lovely day, sorry we had to leave so early. Great to meet everyone, fantastic bunch of people. Cols - didn't get a chance to chat so maybe we could catch up when we come back from Scotland? Gracie - you are gorgeous, those eyes........... Well done to the organiser and safe travels to you all. x
great to catch up and put names to faces thatog have been duely forgotten (bad with names) would like to have caught up with a few that havnt been able to make the trip, on the road somewhere we will meet again. Must also add the dog was a sure winner. Just back from a night out to ceabrate my daughers 25th so its been a busy day cheers
Thanks for the accolades and thanks to all those who attended, including Gracie, that made the day.
A bit of a disaster to the waistlines having a lolly shop in the grounds, I think they must have thought they had struck the jackpot when our lot turned up and the cash register started to ring.....
What a fantastic day at Whiteman Park today with fantastic people, best day I've had in a long time.
I must confess I fell in love with a female there though, her name is Gracie, a black Labrador belonging to HH & Mrs HH, what a beautiful natured dog she is and a credit to her owners for the condition they keep her in, just a beaut dog all round !
I'll let others comment on the days events etc.....
Having had a look at the park map perhaps it would be easiest if we meet at the Info Centre at around 11:00am on Friday then we can decide what we want to do.
There seems to be enough sheter sheds to go around labled from a - z....

I have my Aussie Flag at full hoist despite written instructions from the Van Park Management not too. I'm just waiting to be told to take it down......
Please tell me you jest HH. What nationality are the managers of the park, no ture blue Aussie would say such a thing let alone put it in writing.
I jest not, its a written directive in the "Park Rules". They are Aussies running the place and I think they are concerned re some of the inmates err sorry residents hoisting swatikas or similar.... Not that it says that in the rules just says "No flags" or commercial signage

There is more chance of Dwah letting me commit adultery than my pulling down my flag. Even at home I have four flying. Oh, and three spares just in case of an emergency. I like to let everyone know that I'm an Aussie.

HH has flags, just don't tell him to raise them up the pole all at once.
Fortunately he left most of them at home.
I will be bringing a flag along so look for the shelter flying an Ozzie flag, probably the State one with the "dirty duck" on it, he he !
If anyone turns up late (meeting time 11AM at the Info Centre) as for maps of the shelter in the park and ask them if they know which one we are in, we'll let them know but sometimes they have a change of staff.
Suggest make sure you get all the info/maps etc on the park activities/times etc at the Info Centre (near main Carpark 6) when you arrive.....

Sounds like a good idea HH, also once we find a suitable shelter we can let the info centre know (in case we end up down at Mussel Pool East near the dog exercise enclosure) and nobody can find us.) so any late arrivals can ask where we are.
Suggest we have a flag on our shelter to identify our group, I can bring one from home if HH doesn't have one.....

Could we book a shelter or are they only for bigger groups? maybe if it was booked for "Aussie baby Boomers" and only a dozen turn up, would that be a problem?

I'll look into it HH, not sure if it would be necessary for a Friday and at this time of the year, several other places around including the cafe if weather not too good.....
I rang the park (phone number on link) and the lady said best to check with bookings on that number closer to the day, generally speaking she said being a Friday and this time of the year we may not need to (expensive to book too, see link) but better to ring if not booking and see what shelters (if any) have not been booked, we can also ask at the info centre (near carpark 7) when we arrive. Link to hard top shelters shown here; http://www.whitemanpark.com.au/visitorinformation/hirefacilities.aspx shelters are free to use is nobody has booked them.
Pooch poo pouches are available to the info centre also, dogs on leads ok, also a dog exercise area (off lead) down near Mussel Pool, but that area a long way from the village centre, although does have a couple of nice picnic huts and modern toilets.
Suggest a couple bring their hand held two ways for communication while we are there (using CH18), also BYO grog/food and picnic blanket or chairs, please note grog cannot be consumed in cafe area as far as I am aware, but elsewhere ok.
Plenty of BBQ's (electric coin operated) around area, cannot be booked, open for all to use....

Sounds good or even earlier if some want to get there a bit earlier.......if it's raining, might be an idea to get there earlier to try to get a shelter (free unless booked) the info centre can tell us which ones are not booked, but normally will have a notice on them anyway.
The info centre is right near the carpark, also the park Admin centre in the same building.
We may be there on the 31st August, just got back today from Pemberton.
Suggest the main car park is the best place to meet, also near the tourist info centre where we can suss out a picnic hut, get maps and info etc. Suggest we have picnic lunch or bbq, then whatever takes our fancy, HH will need to check times etc for trams/trains as they do not run all day.
The main carpark is No 7 on this map, it is near the kids pool and toilets, main tram station and cafe etc, see;
I dont think its because I've been dragged around too much by the hound of the baskerville too much, more likely that I was not paying attention during your lecture..... I mean its very hard; Gnome in one ear, Hyacinth whinging about there not being a "Spotlight" in Kalbarri and then my attention span these days is that of a 2 year old.....
At least now Scotia can unbugga and meet us there, I'll have to practise my "och eye, the noo the noo" now, bugga....
Of course we will be in the SE for a while if anyone else wants to meet up, if so let Gnome know, I'm lousy with dates unless they are in scones...

bugger!!!! we leave for the UK on the 2nd September, oh well, never mind, we will just have to come over your way one day to meet you. Hope you all have a great time.
Well the cheese and kisses and I are off to Pemberton area on Sunday for a week or two or three depending on how we feel and where we want to go when we get there.
So if we miss you all at Whiteman Park we hope you all have a good time, I am sure you will, hopefully JRH may have some idea soon of when we can set a date (thanks for your feedback Gnome), pending on OM's and Gnomes movements, JRH is the man to contact and bring up to date, we have a few waiting to hear the date here and elsewhere, so it should be a good get together.
Set two places at the table for The Duchess and My Royal Highness, we may not be able to attend physically due to other Royal commitments, but we will be there in spirit ( or spirits, depending on whats in the bar at the time).
And by Royal Decree, you are ordered to have a good time.
You remain
My Royal servants

I'm as happy as a horny hillbilly at a family reunion.
We are hoping to have a get together, BBQ/Picnic at Whiteman Park for ABB members and maybe a few from elsewhere when OM and Gnome get to Perth hopefully some time this month.
The date will depend on their arrival and a suitable date once they get here.
Anyone in the Perth area at this time is most welcome, we may get a few from other forums as well if this is ok, the more aquaintances we can make on the road for future travel and catch ups the better.
It is anticipated this will be in August, date to be confirmed, JRH will be the main coordinator (thanks John) assisted by me when we have more details. Just letting all know now so you can start thinking about joining us and have the opportunity (if you haven't already) of meeting our Fearless Leader (ooops....Ordinary Member) and others who can make it.
Whiteman Park is in the outer north east suburbs, see;
